GREAT BAY, St. Maarten (Wednesday, August 8, 2012)- The Ombudsman Bureau will be hosting a information session on Wednesday August 15th at the Melford Hazel Sports Complex in Sucker Garden. AVS spoke to Patricia Philips, who is the Secretary General of the Bureau on Tuesday, where she explained the purpose of the information session. “The purpose of the session is to inform the people on the role of the Ombudsman.

“As you know the Ombudsman is a new institution that was established after we got our new constitutional status”. “It is new to everyone, so we felt for us to go out and inform all the citizens of our role, what we stand for, and what we can do for them”. Philips is asking all residents to come out, and learn the role of the ombudsman.
