GREAT BAY, St. Maarten (June 29, 2012)- Finance Minister Roland Tuitt informed that last week he had a meeting with Curacao’s minister of Finance, and where they spoke about the central bank, and the way forward”. “The conclusion of that discussion was that I requested him to give me two weeks, so that within 2 weeks we can do the necessary groundwork to come with some answers on how we can go forward and bring the central bank out of the dilemma that it’s in. The minister also wants the central bank to approve the 2012 budget, because it is irresponsible to have a central bank operating without an approved budget he stated.
